The Kansas American Legion Turkey Run will be at Fort Riley this Saturday, Nov. 16.
The Turkey Run has provided turkeys and traditional sides for Thanksgiving meals to more than 250 Soldiers and Families.
The Turkey Run will be at the Soldier Recovery Unit Clamshell at 675 McGinnis Way, and it will be from 9:00 a.m.- 2:00 p.m.
Veterans and supporters of the Kansas American Legion distribute food items for Thanksgiving meals to eligible Soldiers and their families identified through various installation programs.
The Kansas American Legion, Kansas American Legion Riders, and Kansas American Legion Auxiliary have partnered with the Fort Riley Soldier and Family Assistance Center since 2008 for the turkey run. American Legion posts across the state collect the meal items on behalf of service members at Fort Riley.
