🎥: Fire causes $31K damage to home in Manhattan

Manhattan Fire Department was called out to the 1200 block of Poyntz Avenue on the report of a structure fire at 11:41 am on Saturday.

When crews arrived on the scene smoke was coming from the single story residence.

Five fire trucks with 15 fire fighters, along with the Battalion Chief responded to the fire.

Crews were able to extinguish the fire within 10 minutes of arriving on scene.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation. Loss is estimated at $10,000 to contents and $21,000 to the structure. The owner is listed as Vincent E. Rucker and Lawrence J. Jr. Budenosky of Manhattan, Ks.

The house was unoccupied at the time of the fire. Riley County EMS responded to the scene as mutual aid and the Riley County Police Department provided traffic control through the area.
