There will be a new interchange at I-70 and Taylor Road in Geary County. EDC Director Mickey Fornaro-Dean said the details on the timing of the project are not yet known. "But the fact that we have been selected to be in the IKE program for the upgraded interchange is very exciting."
Fornaro-Dean noted that this opens up an interchange which opens up a lot of open area. "Hopefully if we can get the improvements it's also a direct connection going north to our high school."
The EDC Director said the state will work with local City officials on what the design for the interchange will look like. She also issued a thank you to those who participated in the local consult calls. "Because of the support that we saw for this interchange and the continued growth and development in Junction City is what I think put us on this list and got this announcement for us. So I really appreciate the leadership that engaged in that."
