USD 475 announced that it’s been an action-packed couple of weeks for Junction City High School's fall sports campaign. The Blue Jays wrapped up the girls’ golf season with a solid showing in their last couple of tournaments, while the girl’s tennis team saw junior Hannah Micheel record a 5-2 record at the Class 6A State Tennis Tournament to place ninth overall in Olathe. On the year, Micheel posted a singles record of 25-5 overall.

The boys’ soccer team recorded a 3-2 double overtime victory over Hayden High School on Tuesday night and volleyball senior’s Morgan Nabus and Sophia Tomlinson put the finishing touches on their home careers last week. In cross country, JCHS’ Anthony Testa crossed the finish line in runner-up honors to lead the Blue Jays at the Centennial League Championships. Jake Atkins and Damian Davis followed in fifth and sixth place, respectively. On the girls’ side, Brittney Dibben closed out the meet in 12th-place to earn second-team all-league accolades.

Finally, the No. 3 ranked football team claimed at least a share of the Centennial League title with a 35-20 victory over Washburn Rural High School.
