The National Weather Service has issued a Heat Advisory is in effect today across much of the area, where heat indices will peak around 105 this afternoon.
A few strong to severe storms will be possible this evening and tonight, mainly north of Interstate 70. Large hail and damaging winds would be possible with any storm that can develop. .
Heat indices above 100 are likely again Thursday and Friday.
Another Heat Advisory is in effect across east-central Kansas Thursday where heat indices are most likely to peak around 105. A few strong to severe thunderstorms will also be possible Thursday through Friday night, most likely along and north of Interstate 70. Large hail and damaging winds would again be the main hazards.
