1st District Congressman outlined a proposed an active duty spouses bill during a Town Hall visit to Junction City on Monday. He told JC Post right now service members on active duty have decisions to make on where they file their state income tax return. "They can do it from the state where they're residenced or where they're currently stationed. And this bill allows spouses that same ability."
Mann said the process with the legislation just began last week.
The Congressman touched on a variety of topics during his visit. He labeled the Afghanistan pullout an operational failure with a lot of bad decisions, called for a moment of silence for those dealing with Hurricane Ida, noted that the 1st congressional district is almost the exact same size as the state of Illinois, the district is the number three ag producing district in the state, and there are more hospitals in the district than in any district in the country.
In the coming weeks there will be a lot of discussion about proposed federal infrastructure improvements and the federal budget bill.
Mann also had Town Hall meetings on his schedule in Manhattan, Wamego and Salina on Monday.
