Lady Jays finish fourth at Salina South Invitational

The Lady Jay Tennis Team competed in the Salina South Varsity Invitational on Monday.  They turned in a balanced day as all of their events finished from 7th-10th place in the combined brackets, leaving the team with an overall finish of 4th place out of 8 teams.  Winning the team championship was Salina Central, followed by Buhler.  The doubles teams finished in 7th and 8th place on the day.  Grace Harris and Stephanie Stanislow went 2-2 to earn the highest finish of 7th place for the Lady Jays.  Doubles teammates, Ohemma Sarpong and Rebecca Monroe, earned 8th place.

In singles play, Rachel Cho went 3-1 on the day to earn 9th place.  After dropping her first round match, she rebounded to go undefeated through the rest of the day winning her last three matches.  Her sister, Julia Cho, represented the Lady Jays in the other singles spot and earned 10th place.  The Lady Jays next play on Tuesday in the Topeka West Invitational.  Matches will be held at the Kossover Tennis Center and will begin at 9 am.
