The Geary County Sheriff's Department reported that at 1033 a.m. on Friday they responded to I-70 eastbound at mile marker 304 in reference to a 2-vehicle injury accident. Vicke L. Leece of Topeka, KS was traveling westbound on I-70 in a 2025 Nissan Sentra when she lost control of her vehicle and crossing the median, struck a 2023 Peterbilt Semi being operated by Erik T. Smith of Ashland, KY.
Vicke was transported by EMS to Stormont Vail for medical treatment. Erik reported no injuries. The Nissan was removed from the scene by Homestead Wrecker Service. The Peterbilt was removed from the scene by TLC Wrecker Service.
