Multiple topics were covered during the Geary USD 475 Board of Education meeting Monday evening at the Devin Center.

--Enrollment totals at the District's secondary schools included 1,534 students as of March 27 at Junction City High School, 872 at Junction City Middle School, and about 550 at Fort Riley Middle School.

--JCHS had a 91.7% graduation rate which is above the state average.

--As USD 475 faces budget challenges there was a proposal to reduce Intructional Technology staffing  by two positions to save about $110,000. The Board took no action and indicated no desire to make the cuts. Superintendent of Schools Dr. Reginald Eggleston said that staff will look at other options that can be made and will then get back to the Board.

-- April 23 is the date for the USD 475 State of Education ceremony.
