Kansas Wildlife and Parks

With the muzzleloader season in full swing, Kansas Game Wardens would like to remind ALL deer hunters - firearms, muzzleloader, archery hunters - that they are required to wear BLAZE orange during an OPEN firearms and muzzleloader deer season. This law applies to hunters and those assisting them.

What is required:

- Blaze orange hat or head covering (at least 50% orange, visible from all sides)

- 200 square inches of blaze orange on the upper half of the hunter's body

- 100 square inches visible from the front

- 100 square inches visible from the rear

- Camouflage orange counts if it meets the coverage requirements

Why it matters: Blaze orange keeps hunters safe and visible, reducing the risks of hunting related accidents.
