Junction City ( 2-0 ) opened their 2022 Lady Jay softball season with 11-6 and 5-4 wins over Salina Central at Cleary Field.
In the first game coach Aaron Craig commented on a three-run home run by Sara Rexrode. "She took a ball that I don't think has landed yet over left ( field ). Having that really, really fired her up, fired the team up."
In game two with the score tied at 4-4 in the bottom of the seventh Ava DeGuzman got on third base, and then scored the winning run on a single to left field by Rexrode.
The Lady Jays play Tuesday at Emporia.
