This Saturday the nonprofit organization, Packages for Warriors, will host a Ride for the Deployed and Festivities at Heritage Park in Junction City. This will be a family oriented event featuring music, patriotic rubber ducks throughout the park for kids to find from 8 a.m. until 2 p.m. and then raffle prizes will be given out. There is no fee to participate in the duck hunt. Two bounce houses will also be be on site.
Festivities will also include registration for the Ride portion of the event from 7:30 - 9:30 a.m.. There will be a formal flag raising provided by American Legion Post #45 at 8:45.
Line-up for the ride will then begin for a $20 suggested donation. Vendors will be on site until 5 p.m.
Packages for Warriors sends care packages to deployed service members of all branches of the military. They have provided year round free shipping of medium flat rate packages since 2018 at Box N Ship, 112 N. Washington.
