Fort Riley will be the site of a Hiring Our Heroes Career Summit on Thursday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Riley's Conference Center. This event will feature workshops, career guidance and a job fair.
Soldiers, military spouses, veterans and up to 50 national, regional and local employers will be in attendance. Hiring Our Heroes is sponsored by the U.S. Chamber Foundation and seeks to help veterans, transitioning service members and military spouses. The goal is to help them find meaningful employment opportunities.
The event opens with morning workshops, beginning at 9 a.m., ranging from career planning to using digital networking sites to resume writing and interviewing. The afternoon will feature a hiring fair from 1 to 4 p.m.
