Junction City Manager Kim Zimmerman Tuesday night credited the city public works staff for their efforts during the recent snow storm. They drove more than 4,000 miles in their snow removal efforts, and that did not include contractors that provided assistance.
The city manager plans to do an after action review on the efforts during the storm.
Snow plows
Officials also recognized that Fort Riley and Geary County helped with all the snow plows.
Police Chief addresses snow topics
Junction City Police Chief Kirt Nichols noted that there was two weeks warning ahead of the snow storm. Some people chose not to stay home. Nichols said he saw a lot of community members helping neighbors.
Cooperation looms
The police chief said there has been a meeting with Geary County Sheriff Nate Boeckman and they are seeking to make things work with the police department and sheriff's department.
