The annual Puttin' on the Glitz hosted by the Geary Community Healthcare Foundation is scheduled Dec. 9th at the Courtyard By Marriott Convention Center.

The Geary Community Healthcare Foundation will be raising funds for suicide prevention/awareness and to assist with the Co-responder program for Junction City. This program is where a mental health professional responds with Law Enforcement to assist with people in mental distress in order to assess and de-escalate situations. 

Riley County has had this program implemented now for two years and has seen a significant decrease in the calls they receive in reference to mental illness. With this program in place, there will be follow ups from the mental health provider that assisted with the situation.
