Riley County police advise that the US National Weather Service Topeka, Kansas has issued a Winter Weather Advisory for Riley County in effect from 6:00 p.m. this evening (Jan. 5) through 6:00 a.m. tomorrow (Jan. 6).
Snow accumulations of 1-2 inches are expected with possible isolated snowfall of up to 3 inches.A Wind Chill Advisory has also been issued over night into the morning with wind chills as low as -20° expected. Please use caution while driving during this time period as slippery road conditions are possible.

* WHAT...Very cold wind chills expected. Wind chills as low as
20 below zero.
* WHERE...Portions of east central and northeast Kansas.
* WHEN...From midnight tonight to noon CST Thursday.
* IMPACTS...The cold wind chills could cause frostbite on
exposed skin in as little as 30 minutes.

Use caution while traveling outside. Wear appropriate clothing, a
