Today is Primary Election Day! The primary election features only one race on the ballot, the Junction City Commission Race.
10 candidates filed for election. Three seats on the City Commission are open. This primary election will cut the number of candidates from ten down to six before the General Election in November. Voters can vote for up to three candidates.
With this election being only the City Commission race, only residents who live within the city limits of Junction City are able to vote in this primary election. Due to that, the polling locations in Milford and Grandview Plaza will not be open.
Polling sites are open 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.
The five open Polling sites include:
12th Street Community Center
4-H / Geary County Senior Center
Junction City Municipal Building
Faith Evangelical Lutheran Church (new polling site) - this site replaces Immanuel Lutheran.
Zion United Church of Christ
The 10 City Commission Candidates are: William R. Arnold Jr., Terry Butler, Heath Gadberry, Jim Germann, Al Gordon, Robert Laster, Joe Markley, Kelly Niemcyzk, John L. Tice, and Sam Yoskowitz.
