A group of local residents hung up a total of 52 banners in downtown Junction City on Monday. According to Phyllis Fitzgerald 50 of the banners recognized veterans and two were EMS servant banners.

Those hanging the banners included Phyllis and Keith Fitzgerald, Command Sgt, Major Rob Wilson and his wife, Nina, as well as an NCO from One – Five Field Artillery Battalion.
The City for provided two letters needed for the project. The banners will remain up until sometime after Veterans Day, and will be taken down before the city puts up the holiday decorations . The banner project was an effort supported by the Military Affairs Council of the Junction City Area Chamber of Commerce.
