The Winter Storm Watch has been upgraded to a Warning for northern Counties. The Watch remains in effect elsewhere. Geary County is in the watch area and Riley County in the warning area.

Confidence is increasing in the potential for a winter storm to impact the region Monday into early Tuesday.
According to the National Weather Service a Winter Storm Watch is in effect for areas along and north of I-70, where there is medium confidence (40-70%) for at least 4” of snowfall.
The rest of the area still has a high chance (70-80%) of seeing accumulating snowfall.
Continue to monitor the forecast in the coming days as details become more clear. Much colder temperatures to end this week.

This is for all of north central, northeast, and east central Kansas.
The National Weather Service said confidence is medium to high that several inches of snow will accumulate area-wide late Sunday night into early early Tuesday. At this time the highest snow amounts will be across north central KS where there is winter storm watch in effect Sunday night into early Tuesday morning.
