A longtime 4-H family was honored at the annual Geary County 4-H Extension Council meeting Thursday evening. The Mark and Resia Muto family received the 2019 Extension Appreciation Award.
The Muto's have had three children, Marissa, Mason and Macie, participate in 4-H in Geary County. Resia said they have been involved in 4-H for 17 years. "it's many things we've been involved in." Mark highlighted a number of projects that they have worked on. "We've done everything from rockets to woodworking to building floats to building pens for the livestock and pens for the chickens. Oh my gosh, it's nonstop."
The annual fair was remembered by Mark. "Everybody gets together and enjoys one another's company, and all the projects and working with all the youth."
The Extension Council includes four different committees including Agriculture, Family & Consumer Sciences, 4-H Youth and Economic Development.
