Dorothy Bramlage Public Library donates books to local schools

The Dorothy Bramlage Public Library will donate 700 books to USD 475 elementary schools and to St. Xavier's Catholic School. It is part of the library's book donation program called D-B-P-L at D-B-P-L: Donating Books to Promote Literacy. The program raises funds through grants, events and gifts to facilitate community members' access to literature and to help build literacy skills.

The donated books will be delivered to schools during the first part of December and just in time for Christmas. Each school will receive 50 books for use in either their library, individual classrooms or for distribution to students. Opportunity to provide these schools with the books comes from the generous support of community members, businesses and organizations who have contributed to and / or sponsored DBPL at DBPL fundraising events.

The current drive for the program is the Cocoa and Soup Fundraiser, and community members have until Dec. 6 to purchase their favorite mixes.
