Quilts of Valor are being awarded

James Walker, Milford, received a Quilt of Valor this past Sunday at the Junction City Church of the Nazarene. Program Coordinator Donna Martinson said Walker served in the U.S. Army from 1964 to 1992, including two tours in Vietnam. He retired with the rank of Colonel.


This Friday, Dec. 6th, two more Quilts of Valor will be awarded at the Junction City Transportation Office at 8:45 a.m. The recipients will be Virlyn M. Carter, Junction City, who served in the U.S. Army from 1960 to 1981 including a tour in Vietnam, and to Harry Kindle, Manhattan, who served in the U.S. Army from 1967 to 1971 including a tour in Vietnam.
