There will be a new parent attendance and cafeteria balance notification system after the holidays in Geary USD 475.
The school district plans to use Fort Riley Middle School as the pilot for the program. Once it is working properly the program will be used district wide.
School officials hope the new notification system will help in identifying students with chronic absenteeism.
