Residents of apartments unaffected by Thursday's fire at the Bluffs were being allowed to return to their homes early Friday evening.
According to Junction City Fire Chief Terry Johnson, as of 5 p.m. Friday the fire suppression system for the structure at the Bluffs Apartments at 1810 Caroline Street, Building M, was was returned to service and the remediation of the apartments affected had begun.
The occupants were being allowed back into their apartments as electricity was being restored to the unaffected apartments.
As a result of the fire on Thursday there was damage to approximately 6 to 8 apartments in the building. No one was injured, but the building was uninhabitable due to the lack of a fire suppression system after the fire on Thursday.
