Joan Louise Jump, age 81, of Manhattan, died December 27, 2019, at her residence.
She was born January 14, 1938, in Irving, Kansas, the daughter of John William and Catherine Gertrude (Erichsen) Holgerson. She grew up in Irving, Kansas, where she attended the local schools and graduated from Irving High School in 1956. She attended Emporia State Teacher’s College in Emporia.
Joan was a member of the Irving Rainbow for Girls and a former member of Order of Eastern Star.
She enjoyed crocheting, coin collecting, and listing to her player piano in her living room. She was devoted to her family and friends and loved spending time with them, talking on the phone, and was known for sending a card for every birthday, anniversary and Christmas.
Joan was married to Waldo Jump on August 7, 1960. They later divorced.
She was preceded in death by her parents, one son, Alan S. Jump on November 1, 2012, and by her sister Barbara McMillan.
Survivors include her son Brad Jump of Manhattan; two granddaughters Rebeckah and Jesikka; and a large extended family.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 A.M. Friday, January 3, 2020, at the Yorgensen-Meloan-Londeen Funeral Chapel with Reverend Ben Duerfeldt officiating. Interment will follow in the Sunrise Cemetery in Manhattan.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 7:30 P.M. Thursday, January 2nd, at the Yorgensen-Meloan-Londeen Funeral Home.
