Junction City will be a Great American Defense Community in 2020, one of five in the nation. That announcement was made this past October.
Military Affairs Council Director Craig Bender said this past week that a team of three or four representatives from the organization will be in town in March ( 25 and 26). "They're going to come in on Wednesday and the focus will be to do the award presentation during the MAC breakfast."
During their visit team members will visit with both community and Fort Riley leaders. "And just kind of getting a take from some of the programs that we have in place, talking to the people that participate in those."
