Junction City Middle School Parent Support Team launches teacher grant program

The first round of grant recipients in the program overseen by the Junction City Middle School Parent Support Team have been announced. The program supports teachers' efforts to foster stimulating and engaged learning environments. The inaugural grants totaled $1,410.

The 2019-2020 grant recipients were:

--Nicole Karl, STEM lab and robotics, $112 for shaft collars and set screws

--Ben Trenary, 8th grade social studies, $116 for a circular table

--Michael Frint, 7th grade counselor, $120 for a punching bag and gloves

--Kirsten Votaw, band, $275 for boomwackers, shakers and adaptive mallets

--Nancy Campbell, 8th grad language arts, $674 for Diary of Anne Frank graphic novels

--Lindsay Bange, 7th grade math, $113 for dry-erase sleeves, markers and erasers

Grant decisions were made by a committee of retired teachers and PST members. The PST plans to offer the teacher grants again during the 2020-2021 school year.
