The Junction City Blue Jays have drawn Lawrence Free State in the first round of the McPherson Invitational Thursday afternoon. Tipoff is set for 4:45 p.m.
Blue Jay coach Nick Perez said the Firebirds are the seventh ranked team in Class 6A. "Told the kids all week we've got to be ready to play."
On the same side of the tournament bracket Derby plays Seaman. The other half of the bracket pits Bishop Carroll against Wichita North while McPherson plays Overland Park-Blue Valley.
