There is a goal to retain members of the military in this area once they leave the service.

State Representative Lonnie Clark chairs the House Veterans and Military Committee. "We've been working on a number of things this year basically to try to enhance military retirees staying in Junction City and Geary County because of their work ability."

Clark stated that there is a lot of training in the military and those "job training positions transfer very well into the civilian community. It would be very wise for us to try to maintain and capture some of that."

Clark spoke during a legislative coffee on Saturday at the Junction City Municipal Building.
