
Geary County rural firefighters with assistance from Junction City Fire / EMS responded Thursday to 2714 Liberty Hall Road for a call on a structure fire. A total of 16 firefighters responded to the scene of the blaze at the residence of Bret Reich, Junction City.
There were no injuries at the scene.
According to Rural Fire Chief Garry Berges, smoke was observed coming from the residence. Units were able to deploy a hand line and knock the majority of the fire down. The blaze was contained to the attic area in the middle of the residence.
The damage was listed at $40,000.
