Love was abound this morning at Geary Community Hospital when a unique and extremely rare moment occurred in the Martha K. Hoover Women's Center. Today will be one of those rare days that Divine Cherry a new mother will never forget. Not often do moms and babies share a birthday, especially on a holiday like Valentine's Day, but even less often, is their shared birthday accompanied by being delivered in the same hospital room by the same doctor nearly two decades apart, but that's exactly what happened this Valentine's Day.
Today at Geary Community Hospital, Dr. Anwar Khoury delivered Amora Cherry, 6lbs 2ozs at 9:49 am whose mother Divine was delivered in the same room on the same day 19 years ago by her mother, Vilann Harrison. "It's a rewarding feeling to have cared for both generations, today was a great day!" -Dr. Anwar Khoury
Geary Community Hospital has seen many special births in its long history of outstanding care for mother and infants, but today's special delivery goes way beyond chocolates and roses. It's a unique love story between two generations of moms and babies and one special doctor.
