Kenneth Johan Nordberg

Kenneth Johan Nordberg, 53, of Wamego, Kansas, died Friday, February 14, 2020, at his home.

He had been member of the community for the last fifteen years.  Prior to moving to Kansas he lived in New York.  Kenny was born on November 17, 1966, in Bronx, New York, the son of Finnish immigrants, Hassel and Maj-Britt (Skogberg) Nordberg. He attended local schools in northern New Jersey.

Kenny was a carpenter and worked with his father installing computer flooring for his dad’s company and for the NY Union.  He then moved to Kansas and worked as a Union Carpenter for different companies.  Kenny loved working in the outdoors and always found something to do outside. He was a loyal New York Giants and New Jersey Devil’s fan.

Kenny is survived by his son, Sean Nordberg, Wamego; his sisters, Maria Stivers (Kevin, Ryland Heights, Kentucky and Eva Nordberg-Levy (Sam, Alpharetta, Georgia; nieces and nephews, Ryan (Courtney, Shea, Annika, Maria, Marcus and Erik; grandnephew, A.J., and former wife, Kelley Nordberg.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, February 22, 2020, at Campanella-Evans Mortuary in Wamego.  The family suggests memorial contributions to the American Cancer Society, and those may be sent in care of the mortuary.
