A new open website connects artists with community groups. The Kansas Flint Hills Artist Registry is a self-registration database of regionally based artists.

It is accessible to individuals, groups, and businesses looking to connect with an artist with a specific form. The registry is at ahamanhattan.com/artistregistry.

The registry can be utilized by Manhattan and surrounding areas for: 1) Artists of any age and ability to showcase talents; and 2) Any organization seeking to connect their audience with an artist.

Through early adopter incentives and social media marketing, we hope to get the word out about this service. The Caroline Peine Foundation has awarded aha! a grant to help fund the project.

The registry is supported by the Arts & Humanities Association (aha!, with a goal to build upon the artistic culture that is already igniting in the region.

Aha! is comprised of cultural organizations around the Manhattan region that come together once a month to discuss ideas, community events and look for ways to collaborate with one another.  This organization is driven to "create community connections through the arts, humanities, and our natural world."

With this mission statement in mind aha! has adopted an idea from the City of Manhattans Arts & Humanities Advisory Board, which was to create an Artist Registry.

Aha! encourages regional organizations to fuel this artistic fire and help support regional and local artists. Utilize the registry next time you need to book a musician, sculpture, painter, poet or other.

"We are excited that the Caroline Peine Foundation has helped fund this registry and we believe that this project, along with others like it in the community, has started a cultural shift where you will begin to see art regularly in Manhattan." - Zach Bayless
