Cold shooting by the Junction City Lady Jays was a factor in their 42-28 loss to Emporia Friday night at the Shenk Gym. Junction City trailed 24-12 at halftime and never gained the lead.
The loss dropped the Lady Jays to 3-17.
In the boys contest Skyler Douglas of Emporia hit four three point shots and wound up with 27 points to lead all scorers in a 61-49 win over the Blue Jays. Chris Dixon scored 16 points for Junction City, now 8-12.
Junction City teams await their substate pairings on Saturday.
