Alice Jane (Sader) Wendt - July 18, 1927-March 2, 2020 (age 92)

Alice’s life began on July 18, 1927 in Ramona, KS. She was the daughter of Solomon and Emilie (Schneider) Sader. Alice was baptized and confirmed at the Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church in Ramona. Alice is a 1945 graduate of Ramona High School. She was united in marriage to Glenn A. Wendt on October 31, 1948 at the Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church.

Alice was a homemaker, and also worked as a telephone operator, grocery store clerk, and a cook at the Herington Elementary School for many years. She loved spending time with her family, volunteering at church, travelling to Branson and having coffee with her friends.

Alice’s loving family includes her children Glenn (Berry) Wendt and Randy (Debbie) Wendt, both of Salina, Mike (Debbie) Wendt and Craig (Marcia) Wendt, both of Herington and Nancy (Terry) Deason of Wichita; sister Mildred Rowe of Herington, brother Tom Sader of Overland Park, eight grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren.

Alice passed away on March 2, 2020 at Legacy at Herington. She is preceded in death by her parents, husband Glenn in 1999 and stillborn daughter Glenda Rae in 1951.

Her family will gather with friends on Thursday, March 5 from 6-8 p.m. at Yazel-Megli-Zeiner Funeral Home, Herington. Alice’s funeral service will be held on Friday, March 6 at 10 a.m. at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church led by Pastor Bill Neuman. She will be laid to rest in Sunset Hill Cemetery. Memorial contributions in Alice's name may be directed to St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, Herington.
