Brad J. Tajchman, age 50, of Manhattan, died February 29, 2020, at the University of Kansas Health System in Kansas City.

He was born October 9, 1969, in McPherson, Kansas, the son of Marcel and Barbara (Holub) Tajchman.

Brad graduated from McPherson High School in 1988, and then attended and played baseball at Pratt Community College and then graduated from Kansas State University with his degree in Ag. Business.

He worked at Osborne Farmer’s Bank in Osborne as a Vice President, and then for First Kansas Bank in Hoisington for 10 years as Senior Vice President, before moving to Manhattan in 2013 to be the President of ESB Financial.

Brad was a member of St. Thomas More Catholic Church for several years and then transferred to Seven Dolors Catholic Church but attended St. Isidore’s with his children. He cherished his Catholic faith, and his top priority was living in close relationship with Jesus Christ through a sacramental way of life. He was an active member of the Knights of Columbus while in Hoisington.

Brad’s favorite activities were to be outdoors in nature or sitting around the table playing Pitch or board games. He delighted in sipping coffee, watching a sunrise on his front porch, to the thrill of riding roller coasters, hunting, fishing, hatching chickens or taking care of his goats and he loved his pet turkey Henry. He always looked forward to the annual deer hunting camp with his buddies for the last 20 years. Every summer he looked forward to family vacations with his kids and extended family whether it be camping at Middle Creek, boating at Hamilton lake, or most recently a cruise to the Western Caribbean. Brad enjoyed his ESB bank family while at work and outside of work playing on ESB’s kickball team. In every activity he put others needs before his own and enjoyed taking in every present moment with friends and family. Most of all Brad loved his children, they were his true joy and he would do whatever he could for and with them.

Brad is survived by his four children: Madison, Denton, Malary and Dawson all of Manhattan; his father, Marcel Tajchman and his wife Marilyn of McPherson; two siblings: Michelle Lyle of Wichita and Brian Tajchman of Abilene; and his grandson Khayden Jerome Tajchman.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Barbara.
