The Chapman girls basketball team ( 18-4 ) will play at 8:15 p.m. Wednesday in the first round of the Class 4A State Basketball Tournament at the Tony's Pizza Events Center in Salina. Their opponent will be Shawnee Mission-Bishop Miege ( 20-2 ).
That same side of the tournament bracket finds Nickerson ( 20-2 ) meeting Buhler ( 14-8 ). The other side of the bracket has Eudora ( 20-2 ) against Clay Center ( 16-6 ) while Kansas City Piper ( 20-2 ) will play Baldwin ( 17-5 ).
The tournament runs Wednesday, Friday and Saturday.
