In light of the COVID-19 situation Irwin Army Community Hospital is applying CDC recommended measures to protect patients and staff. A list of measures was released via social media.
Entrances:--IACH will restrict hospital entrances to ensure the safety of our patients and staff during the COVID-19/coronavirus pandemic.--Patients and visitors can enter the hospital through the Main Entrance (by the flag pole, Emergency Department, and Physical Therapy (facing Huebner Road) access points. The Main Entrance and Physical Therapy access points are open only during business hours. All other entrances are closed for entry. Although they will still be available for exit, we ask patients and staff to utilize the three entrances for exit as much as possible.--All individuals must sanitize their hands at the provided stations before entering the medical facility. This includes outlying clinics such as Farrelly Health Clinic and Flint Hills Medical Home.
Visitors:--Patients at Labor & Delivery or inpatient care are limited to one visitor. All visitors must be 18 years of age or older.--Patients with outpatient appointments are likewise asked to minimize the number of visitors accompanying them.--All visitors must be free from illness. The staff may assess visitors at any time and ask the individual to leave if they pose a potential risk to themselves, the staff, or patients.
Dining:--The IACH dining facility will only provide services to IACH and WTB staff. Visitors for inpatient or labor and delivery patients will be able to purchase prepared bag lunches.
Access to Care:--If you are experiencing flu-like symptoms, please stay home and call the Nurse Advice Line (1-800-TRICARE) for guidance. Many appointments may be scheduled as a virtual appointment. The IACH team will reach out through your respective medical home with a telephone call or Secure Messaging via TOL Patient Portal. The team is working to conduct as much care as possible without increasing the risk of exposure to others.
