Geary County Transfer Station set new regulations on payment

In order to prevent the spread of COVID-19 and provide essential services to Geary County residents, the Geary County Transfer Station will not accept customers who pay with cash or check. Charge account customers will still be able to dispose of MSW at the Transfer Station. The scale house is closed to the public.

Cory Trump, Geary County Public Works Director said the Transfer Station hours of operation will be8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday and closed on Saturday and Sunday. The changes are effective this Tuesday.

County staff will continue to monitor the situation and make changes as needed. This will be in effect until further notice.


Also the Geary County Landfill Brush Disposal location will continue to be open for residents to dispose of brush and trees only. The hours there are 8:15 a.m. and 4:15 p.m.
