Geary USD 475 is looking at the possibility of increasing the number of sites in the community where free meals are served to children during the COVID-19 crisis.

Superintendent Dr. Reginald Eggleston told a Facebook audience Wednesday that the district has eight or nine distribution sites, and officials are looking at expanding that service. "We have been working with local community partners in distributing meals so that's going to continue as well."

Eggleston thanked his Child and Nutrition program for good work in providing meals to children. He noted that in the last two days more than 2,000 meals had been served. "So we know that there is a need here in our community and we want to do as much as we possibly can to meet that need and to serve our students and families to the best of our ability."
