During Corva -19 the Geary County Register of Deeds office will be making some adjustments to the hours of operation and the time of filing documents.
Through the month of April, the office hours will be from 8:30 – 4:00.
Filing times will be from 9:00 AM to 2:00 PM
The Real Estate Industry and general public are encouraged to call the register of deeds office to schedule an appointment for filing of documents. We also are available for any questions you may have regarding obtaining copies of your real estate documents that are made of record.

For a veteran to obtain a copy of their DD 214 or file please contact the office.

According to K.S.A recordation of instruments conveying or affecting real estate ; duties of register of deeds. It is the duty of the register of deeds office to file the document for record immediately . In addition the office shall compare with last deed of record and make sure the document is free of errors. When an error is found we are to notify the filer for corrections.
It is also the responsibility for the register of deeds office to forward to the county clerk’s office all deeds who shall make changes in address for mailing of the tax statements.
During this difficult time of Corva -19 the entire staff of the register of deeds office remain dedicated and know the importance of duties. However, we are finding it necessary to make some adjustments to hours and to limit staff as needed .
