Differences between local and state orders are clarified

Governor Kelly's statewide stay at home order supersedes a Geary County stay at home order issued earlier. Keith Ascher, Geary County Commission Chairman, outlined the childcare requirements under the Governor's order. "Childcare facilities, they are having to take temps on all the children due to social distancing. But any elevated temperatures, they need to send them right home. So we got that clarified.

Another area for clarification involves churches. Ascher stated that churches can meet. "They don't need to be at the 10 people gathering but they are expected to do social distancing as well." The Geary County stay at home order had prevented churches from holding services, unless there were ten members or less in the congregation.

Many churches have adjusted to holding online services during COVID-19.
