United Way in Geary County continues to work to provide free meals for children in the community during the COVID-19 period. Nichole Mader, Executive Director said they are serving roughly 100 to 115 meal kits per day. "Volunteers can sign up through our Facebook if they would like to come down and help. We are restricting our volunteers to no more than four at a time so that we can maintain a six-foot safety distance."
Mader said many of the volunteers have been school teachers.
