Anita Kay Pritchett, 53, a resident Manhattan, died on April 2, 2020 after a lengthy illness. She died of pulmonary hypertension.
Anita was born in Floydada, Texas on May 23 1966 to Ray and Sue Nichols of Floydada, Texas. She was a loving mother and wife. She graduated from Floydada High School 1984. She was a substitute teacher in Plainview, Texas. She met James (Jim) Pritchett from Flomot, Texas, and they were married in May of 1985.
They moved to Junction City in 2007 and then to Manhattan where Anita attended K-State University to get her Kansas teaching license. She loved to teach and was looking forward to teaching at school and at church sadly her disease made it impossible to continue. She will always be remembered for her smile and good nature.
Anita was preceded in death by a brother David Nichols.
Anita leaves behind her husband and her two kids all from Manhattan, also her 9 brothers still living, 8 from Texas and 1 from Arizona, a sister who is also from Texas.
Celebration of Life Services will be held at a later date, when it is safe for everyone to attend.
The Yorgensen-Meloan-Londeen Funeral Home, 1616 Poyntz Avenue, Manhattan, Kansas 66502, is assisting the family with the funeral arrangements.
