Man from Wamego airlifted to hospital after motorcycle, semi crash

POTTAWATOMIE COUNTY—One person was injured in an accident just before 11:30a.m. Thursday in Pottawatomie County.

The Kansas Highway Patrol reported a 2005 Harley Davidson motorcycle driven by Delbert L. Henson, 47, Wamego, was southbound on a curve on Kansas 13 at Cedar Creek.

The motorcycle traveled left of center and  struck the drivers side fuel tank as well as the 2nd and 3rd tires on the 2nd and 3rd axel of a 2008 Peterbilt semi driven by Alex J. White, 24, Wamego.

Henson was airlifted to KU Medical Center. Troopers  praised a Pottawatomie County Deputy who applied a tourniquet to the rider's leg, according to KHP Ben Trooper Ben Gardner.  White was not injured.  Henson was not wearing a helmet, according to the KHP.
