Governor Laura Kelly is moving Kansas to a modified 2.0 COVID-19 reopening level on Friday. It means theaters and museums can open and ball teams can practice and play, but most swimming pools cannot open. There will be a limit on mass gatherings of 15 people.

Junction City Manager Allen Dinkel noted that the current Phase 1.5 will only last four days, so now we'll see how long Phase 2 lasts. "The big change was no public pools yet and a limitation of people to 15. Our concern is if on June 8th they go to 45 people and how that's going to play in. We're going to have to wait and see on what we do from here on out."

Dinkel added the City wait as they move into next week to determine what can be done. He said the goal is still to have the Municipal Pool open at some time.

The current schedule for the modified Phase 2 is for it to be in effect until June 8.
