As part of a series of announcements on Tuesday, Governor Kelly vetoed a House bill recently approved by the legislature, issued a new emergency disaster declaration designed to protect Kansans from the current economic threat posed by COVID-19 and the possible threat of surges of the virus.

Kelly removed the statewide order that put Kansas into Phase Two of the reopening plan. "Instead the Ad Astra plan is now being offered as guidance for counties to follow. The power to administer and regulate the plan will be up to each county. If a county wants to remain in Phase Two with Phase Two restrictions it will need to issue its' own emergency order to that effect."

In Geary County the EOC board will meet Wednesday morning to review the announcements by the Governor and decide where the County proceeds on any further COVID-19 restrictions or guidance.
