One Republican and one Democrat have filed for election to the 17th District seat in the Kansas Senate. Junction City is included in that district.
Incumbent Republican Jeff Longbine, Emporia, has filed along with Democrat Stephen Vecchione, Emporia. The filing deadline was this past Monday.
The outcome of the race will be determined in the November general election.
