In Junction City, you can legally discharge fireworks on private property from July 1st through July 4th. The hours are 11:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m. each of those days.
A few things to keep in mind:
- Fireworks can only be set off on private property. That means no shooting them off on public streets, in parks, or on other public property.
- Respect any posted signs that prohibit fireworks in specific areas.
- Freedom Fest runs July 1st through the 5th this year. During that time, fireworks are not permitted within 300 feet of Heritage Park in any direction, at any time.
- Sky lanterns, also called floating or aerial lanterns, are not allowed anywhere in the city at any time
