The Junction City Commission voted 3-2 to approve rate increases for water rates and sewer rates.

Ordinance G-1311 calls for a six percent increase in water rates and base fees. According to City Finance Director Jamel Wilcox, the increase is to support the city's capital projects and to meet debt obligations.

Ordinance G-1312 calls for an 11.5 percent increase in sewer rates beginning in January 2025. Wilcox told the City Commission this comes out to an additional $4.33 per month. This increase is also to secure sufficient funding for the city's capital projects and debt service payments.

City Commissioners Pat Landes, Ronna Larson, and Jeff Underhill supported and voted yes on the ordinances. Commissioners Al Gordon and Richard Pinaire voted no and opposed the ordinances.
